(Banach Space Theory and Descriptive Set Theory Seminar)
This is a reading seminar proposed by Dr. Sari to go through some of the recent work done on the
border line of Banach Space Theory and Descriptive Set Theory. The purpose of the seminar is for the
participants to understand enough of both topics so as to comprehend the proofs of some significant
results recently obtained.
The current focus will be a recent paper
Ferenczi, Louveau and Rosendal,
The Complexity of Classifying Separable Banach Spaces up to Isomorphism.
The unpublished manuscript is available in the arXiv.
In the long run the seminar will become a workshop to attack related research problems.
The seminar is meeting every Wednesday (starting Nov. 1, 2006) from 1:30 pm to 3 pm, in GAB 472.
Any one is welcome to join. For more questions, contact Bunyamin Sari, Su Gao or Steve Jackson.
