Mathematics Graduate Program
Here are current estimates of tuition and fees. Supported students who are not Texas residents receive tuition waivers reducing their tuition to in-state levels. In order to estimate the tuition and mandatory fees for supported students, scroll down to the latest tuition rates for Texas residents taking graduate classes. For example, in Fall 2017 the Texas resident tuition and mandatory fees for three graduate courses (9 credit hours) is $3,583 per term. There is an additional charge of approximately $135 per term in departmental fees.
9 month salaries for supported students may be found at the mathematics department graduate program's financial assistance page. Currently students who do not have either a Master's degree or 18 hours of graduate credit (normally the amount earned in one year of full-time study) earn $14,926, those who have a Master's degree or at least 18 hours of graduate credit earn $17,560, and those who are ABD (all but dissertation) earn $20,240.
An additional 1.5 months of summer support through TAships and RAships is usually available: multiply the above salaries by 7/6 to obtain the 10.5 month salaries.
Support is extended for up to six years for Ph.D. students, and up to three years for Master's students.
The Toulouse Graduate School posts health insurance information here. The least expensive plan is the Student Health Insurance Policy, based at the UNT Health and Wellness Center (HWC). Their administrative tab has a billing and insurance link, where you can find a summary of the most recent domestic rates, as well as a link to the provider's site, where you can find detailed information on the coverage. They also post domestic and international rates, on the first page of the documents “YEAR-1 Summary Brochure” and “YEAR-4 Summary Brochure”, respectively.
International Students: you will be automatically enrolled in the HWC plan. If you have other insurance and do not wish to pay for this plan, you will need to go to the center to waive it. (You may still have to pay for repatriation insurance.) Detailed information on insurance for international students is posted here.
