2008 Annual Integration Bee will be held Friday, April 25

Congratulations go to the UNT Putnam Team.  This year, the team placed 49th out of 516 competing institutions.  The team was lead by David Simmons who individually ranked in the top 50 among 3753 competitors. The other team members were John Rizzo and Zach Barnhart, who also made very good scores on the exam.

The Mathematics Department at the University of North Texas expects to have a tenured or tenure track position to fill for 2007-2008 pending administrative approval. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong interest in interdisciplinary research and whose area of expertise is statistics or applied probability, although strong candidates in any area of applied mathematics will be considered. The teaching load is two courses per semester. The department offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in mathematics including the Ph.D. degree. The search committee will begin reviewing applications after December 1, 2006 and continue to consider applications until the position is filled. The University of North Texas is an ADA/AA/EOE that encourages applications from minority group members and women.
